Custom tailored for Hayden's father by The Hat Man, he was enchanted with a peculiar spell, giving him life and transforming him from an ordinary piece of headwear into a living, breathing, talking entity. Whether he is a soul reincarnated as a hat or a hat possessed by a demon or something else entirely remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: it's not every day that folks have the pleasure of meeting a non-taciturn garment, and Andy continues to rouse the curiosity, suspicion, and fascination of everyone he meets.
Andy doesn't strive for much other than living up to his reputation of being the most fabulous piece of headwear. But aside from always sitting pretty atop Hayden's head, he must honor the moral and legal obligation to protect him, a sworn oath he takes very seriously. It is his bound duty to watch over Hayden and keep him safe after being handed down to the budding cowboy witch by his father. Andy serves not only as a trusted confidant and mentor to Hayden, but also a best friend. The magic coursing through the hat's fabric protects Hayden in a way that remains a mystery.
While it is rare to see Andy & Hayden apart, the hat does not always need to be worn. But Andy cannot be far from his ward for very long without “drying up”, as he calls it, so Hayden (sometimes somewhat begrudgingly) brings him along everywhere he goes.
Sassy, suave, stylish, stunning, and self-aware, with the same penchant for danger and adventure as his partner in crime, Andy is a hat who makes a bold statement (literally, whenever he can).

A Hat of Many Hats
Andy possesses the magic ability to shapeshift. Into what, you might ask? Why, into other types of hats, of course! This skill is particularly useful for when Hayden needs to lie low or sell a disguise but can't ditch his hatty companion.
Not Your (Ordinary) Hat
If any other entity aside from his chosen wearer (in this case Hayden) tries to wear Andy, they will immediately be cursed with a horrible string of bad luck until they take him off.
Hats Off to Being Invincible
Andy is immortal, and as such he cannot be destroyed through typical means. So if you were to light him on fire, use him as a chew toy, or bury him in quicksand, he might object (loudly), but he won't necessarily die. There is only one true, real way to vanquish the hat.

A Cowboy Witch's Best Friend
Hayden & Andy are a dynamic duo, a package deal, a couple of peas in a pod, a killer dream team, a comfortable pair of jeans. Whether it's embarking on an epic adventure into the unknown or going into town to get groceries, the suave hat can surely always be spotted resting comfortably atop his cowboy witch's noggin. Andy is bundled up with Hayden all the time not only to protect his ward, but also to keep himself from “drying up”. However, Andy doesn't always need to be worn; so long as he remains somewhat within Hayden's close vicinity, he should be fine. While at home, Andy doesn't need to be worn at all, as the magic of the cabin is enough to keep him “moisturized”.
