Wyatt of Kairos

A knight lost in time, Wyatt is on a quest to find his way back home after the transcendent power to traverse time itself was bestowed upon him. But he's hiding another extraordinary power: one that turns him into the very thing he was meant to slay once in a new moon.

Once upon a (long) time (ago), Wyatt's tale starts out as any honorable knight's does. In truth, things had been going quite well for him. He was fresh from his accolade, having fought sword & shield to earn his title of knight. And well-earned it was. Among his peers, he endured the most struggle in the beginning, but in a fierce showcase of strength, determination and grit, he had fought harder than anyone to get where he is. As a knight, he could finally prove that he was worth something. And he could do his late father, an esteemed knight of the Round Table, proud by following in his footsteps. Indeed, things were going quite well.

Until the ultimate trial to put his chivalry to the test went haywire.

To officially celebrate his newfound knighthood, a few of his seniors extended him a congratulatory invitation. They wanted him, to tag along with them on a dangerous expedition: to hunt down and slay a great dragon. Unsure if he had what it takes and having doubts of his own strength, but wanting to prove his worth, he mustered up the courage to join the chivalry in journeying to the Isle of Kairos to face his fears. He did have what it takes. Didn't he...?

He found out soon enough that he in fact, did not have what it takes. To slay a dragon, that is. But that's what makes him special, after all.

To make a long story short: the chivalry makes the journey to the isle. They manage to hunt down this well-hidden old dragon with the help of a map that they stole. But what no one mentioned was the fact that this dragon wasn't just a dragon. No one said the dragon was actually a long lost god trapped in dragon form. Or maybe no one even knew. What no one knew for sure was that said dragon god would awake from its peaceful afternoon slumber and incinerate every single fool in armor that had the audacity to draw their sword from its scabbard. Which was all of them. Save for a single certain knight frozen in his greaves, unable to draw his sword and unable to draw his gaze away from those powerful, draconic fiery eyes. And the dragon doesn't avert its gaze either. Yes, it sees something in our brave knight. What, exactly? Not even Wyatt knows. What happens next? Something very hard to believe unless you see it yourself with your own two eyes.

The dragon winks, fangs sink into Wyatt's neck, and everything goes black.

It takes awhile for Wyatt to come to and regain his consciousness. He wakes up in a cold sweat and has no idea where he is. He's suddenly overcome with dread at what he'd just witnessed and the fate that had befallen his fellow knights. Despite the horrors, he finds his bearings and is able to get a take on his surroundings, yet no trace of the dragon that cooked them all is to be found. What he does find is a sword at his feet. It's his own sword – but there's something... different about it. The blade shimmers mysteriously... like a dragon's scale. There is an hourglass embedded in the hilt. Lost in thought, he eventually gathers the strength to pull himself to his feet and figures the best course of action would be to try to make it back home. Little does he know, he is centuries into the future, and his friends and the home he once knew is no longer. It wasn't just a very long nap he'd awoken from. He has pulled off the impossible, or at least what's thought to be impossible: time travel. And he doesn't even know how he did it. That's right: he's stuck here in this new day & age, until he figures out how to do it again. Oh, and he's also a weredragon now. And unsavory folks are after him & his dragon head. Wow, that's a lot for a newbie knight to take on all at once. Luckily, those mountains in the distance look like a nice place to lie low in peace.

Will he ever make it back home? Only time will tell...

TRIVIA

Coolest Sword of All Time?

Wyatt's sword is so much cooler than he remembers it from before the whole getting-bit-by-a-dragon thing. For one, the blade looks pretty cool, shimmering with over a million colors. And it has a pretty cool weapon art... that imbues the blade with a dragon god's flame, letting it slice through anything as if were butter. The sword is also pretty cool in that it's the very thing that grants Wyatt the power of time travel, but he doesn't know that yet (nor how to do it).

The Dragon Prince

As a weredragon, Wyatt can do some pretty cool stuff (aside from turning into a dragon, of course). He can converse with dragons and even ride them. Having the ability to turn into a good-looking dragon also means he's managed to unintentionally catch the eye of several dragons who see him as, ahem, a snack, if you will...

A Knight Lost in Time

Trying to find his footing in this brand new era isn't easy. It's hard to run into a knight such as himself nowadays, and everyone he does run into looks at him like he's lost his way to the local ren faire. And his armor has gotten all bent out of shape from all these dragon-shifting and time-traveling shenanigans, and he doesn't even know where to go to get new armor. What's even the point of being a knight now then? What is he even fighting for? What is he trying to prove? Why did the dragon god choose him? What year is it? And what are those newfangled electric telegram contraptions?
